From Struggle to Success: My Empowering Journey with Marathi Mandal Ireland
In September 2014, full of hope, I arrived in Ireland, determined to secure a job. I was eager to enter the workforce after finishing my master’s degree.
Despite challenges like crafting my CV, facing interviews, and navigating visa issues over 6 months, I struggled due to lack of experience and felt lost. The pressure led to despair, making me consider leaving.
However, a ray of hope emerged when my friend Omkar Aphshankar emphasized the Marathi Mandal and urged me to attend the ‘Saad 2016’ event. There, meeting Sudheer Kamath changed my fortunes. He arranged an interview at J&J even though my graduate visa had expired that morning. Despite the uncertainty, I gave my best, clinging to hope for an extension based on a job offer.
Miraculously, a week later, J&J offered me a job, bringing tears of joy. I bravely relocated to Cork and successfully extended my visa. The challenges persisted as I awaited a Critical Skill permit, as I was only offered a 3-month contract initially. Again, the invaluable guidance of Sudheer Kamath, a true gem of a person, proved crucial as I navigated this hurdle.
In gratitude, I pledged to serve the Marathi Mandal community diligently, a promise I’ve honored for a decade now.
